ChatGPT not quite as indie as me

Here’s an inlay card I’ve just found for a mixtape I made at the end of 1992/start of 1993. I would have bought some of these on CD single, others I would have recorded from the radio (almost certainly Gary Crowley’s Sunday show on GLR). Haven’t found the tape yet …

I thought I’d ask ChatGPT to transcribe this – it’s very good for doing this with text input, but obviously its OCR is not quite so good. It’s given me a *completely different* mixtape:

ChatGPT:

This image appears to be of a handwritten or printed list of tracks on a mixtape. I’ll transcribe the tracklist for you and then take a guess at when this mixtape might have been made.

I thought I’d ask ChatGPT when it was made too:

This selection strongly features iconic alternative and Britpop tracks from the late 1980s through the mid-1990s. Based on the tracklist, I’d estimate this mixtape was made around 1996-1998, when Britpop was at its peak and grunge/alternative rock remained highly popular. Let me know if this matches your memory!

Glad to say that AI not quite ready to take over the world and destroy mankind just yet.
