Art Brut – The Castle & Falcon, Birmingham
This is a ticket stub. Really.
ANOTHER new Birmingham venue for me! It’s my 11th Art Brut gig, so they’re just hovering outside my “top 10 artists watched” list.
Art Brut don’t play so much since Eddie moved to Berlin, so I always try and catch them when I can, and this town, not London, is now my “local”.
The venue was OK, the band were fantastic as usual. My Little Brother and Modern Art were both 20 minute behemoths as usual. No new songs sadly – they really need to pull their fingers out.
It was Eddie’s birthday today. Setlist FM says that the first song after the encore was “Happy Birthday To You” – but the crowd sang it, the band jumped in halfway through, so I’m not really sure if that’s a “song” or not. The website also lists it as a “Mildred J Hill & Patty Hill cover) which has to be dedication to detail!
