Darling Buds, Simon Love and the Loves – 229, Great Portland Street, London
The second of three gigs in my London Gig Weekend. I think I would come up for this one if it was the only gig I wanted to see this weekend.
This was my 11th Darling Buds gig – and my 10th since they decided to reform and occasionally gig in 2014. I’ve seen them pretty much every year I could since. (I really should have gone to more gigs when I was younger though …)
It was good to see Simon Love again – the last time was at Indietracks in 2016. I miss Indietracks.
The Darling Buds were once again on great form. No news about that new album – as the band said from the stage, “even our new ones are old ones now”. I’m hopeful that 2025 will be the year.
I caught LOADS of flowers tonight too.
