Echobelly, Camens – Live 45, Kidderminster
Another new venue in another new gig town! Kidderminster is about an hour and a half’s drive away through the country roads of Powys, Shropshire and Worcestershire.
The venue is kind of odd in that there was a very large window at the front, which was open because it was a warm evening, and in theory you could stand outside the venue and see the band without paying. You can certainly hear them clearly.
This is the view from the street!
Camens are an indie band from Stoke and they had their amps pumped up WAY LOUD. Thankfully this was tweaked downwards when Echobelly took to the stage.
It’s frustrating that they have a new album to release but they can’t release it due to a complicated legal situation. Tonight’s set included some of those new songs, plus a generous helping of old ones, and Sonya’s voice is still in terrific shape.
