Futureheads, Adult Play – Shrewsbury Castle, Shrewsbury

I’ve really enjoyed my recent Futureheads gigs, so it was good to see that they were playing something called Loopfest, an all day thing in Shrewsbury, an easy 45 minute drive from my new home in Wales.

We managed to park up in a city centre car park for free at around 7.30pm, and then walked to the castle grounds, catching the end of the set from a local band, Adult Play. The Futureheads came on just after 8.30pm and played for an hour and a quarter – the sound wasn’t the greatest but the band were on good form with the audience and music.

The gig was in the grounds of the castle, which was very picturesque. It rained throughout the entire evening. I wore a raincoat that I had bought in Germany in 2005 which did the trick, but it looks like it’s finally disintegrating now, so now I have no raincoat.

Support was from a local band, Adult Play.
