Pulp, Stereolab – Academy, Brixton

After having played His and Hers relentlessly, and Different Class quite a lot over the last two months, I’m finally at my first Pulp gig.

I’ve been to Brixton Academy a few times and it’s usually sold out but today was ultra-rammed. I don’t know if they had way too many people in on the guest list, but it seemed like you could remove 200 people and it would still be full.

This was the first and only time I’ve seen Stereolab live. Another band I absolutely love – and I was a bit underwhelmed by their set. I don’t know why.

Pulp played a lot of my favourites from the last two albums, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. The whole show was recorded for a video/DVD release, so there’s lots of copies of it on YouTube, particularly on the 4K Pulp – Lives & Rare channel.
