Boulders Beach
On the way back from the Cape of Good Hope, we stopped at Simon’s Town, home of Boulders Beach – which in turn is the home of the African penguin.
Despite being only 32.5 degrees south, the Antarctic ocean currents allows a big colony of penguins to live here. By comparison, this place is as far south as Marrakech or Tripoli is north.
There were a lot of penguins though. There were a few boardwalks and walkways so that humans could get a good look. And more often than not, the penguins were gathered up in groups, staring back at the humans.
