Saint Helena – introduction
I have always wanted to visit those hard to reach places that a lot of people don’t go to. I’ve been to the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, but they’re not too difficult to reach. I’ve also spent a day on Lundy Island, although there’s not much there (one shop, one pub, one church and one football pitch, so at least I had a kickabout with the kids there).
Saint Helena ticks more boxes – very hard to reach, no real tourism infastructure but able to sustain tourists. And it’s peaceful and stunningly picturesque, as you are about to find out.
