Darling Buds, Popguns – The 100 Club, Soho
My second Darling Buds headline show since they reformed. This show was billed as a 30th Anniversary Show – and played Pop Said … in full, so I can now say I’ve heard every track from that excellent album live.
I don’t know a lot of Popguns tunes but they did come into my station once and play a session! They were pretty good and I found myself checking out their back catalogue afterwards.
At one point I found myself standing next to Walthamstow’s Labour MP Stella Creasy, which she confirms on her Facebook page (her attendance that is, not the fact that I was standing next to her):
The Darling Buds were as sublime and excellent as ever. Hopefully nights like this will want them to keep going!
