Dingus Khan, Horse Party, Superglu, Brackish Edge, Claws – The Steamboat Tavern, Ipswich
Really enjoyed this gig. Dingus Khan and Superglu both share the same lead singer (and maybe one or two other members) and Horse Party are great in a kind of 90s-influenced-indie-I-like-a-lot way. The other bands I didn’t know but they were good too. Lots and lots of value – especially as it was a free gig!
I also interviewed which is why there’s a photo of the band sitting round a table looking a bit perplexed. I think this might have been their last gig – they definitely didn’t do much more after this show.
Dingus Khan were well known for having three drummers and three bass players on stage together and I think they were all present tonight. Very sadly – one of the drummers, Gaz, passed away in 2022, only 35 years old.
