Pop Will Eat Itself, Jeana – Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes
A return to Milton Keynes and the Craufurd Arms, the kind of venue I wish we had locally, but obviously don’t.
I don’t remember a lot about Jeana’s set – sorry, Jeana! The Craufurd has a (good) habit of giving local bands some exposure when bigger bands come to town. I did find her Soundcloud though.
Before I mention Pop Will Eat Itself’s set I’d like to say thanks to the band and the crowd tonight for giving me one of my few great gig photos …
The gig was a “play an album in full” gig, and the album getting the treatment was their classic “This Is the Day…This Is the Hour…This Is This!”, still sounding as alien and as great as it did back in the late 80s. And there’s nothing like a PWEI gig in 2019 to remind you that 50 and 60 year olds aren’t quite dead yet – a lot of people partying like it’s 1989.
